Job summary

VIP is seeking a Flat Rate Technician to diagnose and repair automotive systems, install parts, fluids, tires, and accessories, and ensure services are performed right the first time. The Tech must follow VIP safety, loss prevention, and customer service programs, and complete required training and ASE certifications.

This non-exempt, hourly position offers a standard 5-day work week, with opportunity for growth as ASE certifications are pursued and maintained.

Qualifications

Read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, journal and procedures, or governmental regulations.
Explain vehicle information to customers clearly and respond to questions.
Diagnose and recommend solutions to basic automotive problems.
Interpret, understand, and apply instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

Ensure safety policy adherence; complete safety training and report unsafe conditions.
Provide diagnosis, repair, and maintenance services for automotive systems per ASE categories.
Initiate a valid Service Work Order and display it with the vehicle during service.
Complete MPI and support the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement process.
Ensure work orders and printouts are returned with vehicle keys.
Obtain needed parts from the Desk Team and return unused parts afterward.
Return cores, batteries and used tires to designated areas.
Maintain a 16-week productivity average per position (80-100%).
Follow VIP quality standards and complete required training.
Attend meetings and training sessions as needed.
