Job summary

VIP, Inc. is seeking a Flat Rate Technician to diagnose and repair automotive systems, perform parts replacement, and ensure quality work the first time. You will follow VIP safety policies, document service work orders, and maintain clear communication with customers and the service team.

The role requires ASE certifications, one year of related experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment while meeting productivity targets.

Qualifications

• Read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, journal and procedures, or governmental regulations
• Explain vehicle information to customers clearly and respond to questions
• Diagnose and recommend solutions to basic automotive problems
• Interpret, understand, and apply instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Ability to perform required types of automotive services listed above

Responsibilities

• Ensure workplace safety is Priority #1 and follow safety policies
• Provide diagnostics, repair, and maintenance for automotive systems (ASE A1–A8)
• Initiate a valid Service Work Order before service and display it with the vehicle
• Complete MPI and support the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement process
• Return paperwork and keys to the Service Desk upon completion
• Obtain needed parts only from Desk Team and return unused parts
• Return cores, batteries, and tires to designated areas
• Maintain productivity targets: Technician 80%, ASE Technician 90%, Master Technician 100%
• Follow VIP quality service policies and safety standards
• Complete required training and certification for the position
• Attend meetings and coordinate with Service Manager on equipment safety
• Maintain clean, organized work area and comply with regulations
• Maintain ASE certs and ongoing training; support 5-for-5 education of customers
• Participate in shop maintenance and safety programs
