Job summary

Pep Boys Inc in Merced, CA is seeking a Store Manager to drive service labor, parts, and fleet sales while delivering exceptional customer service. You will lead service selling and back shop teams, recruit and develop staff, and ensure safety and compliance across daily operations.

The role requires supervisory experience, strong communication, and hands-on leadership to maintain productivity and top service levels. This is a safety-sensitive position with diverse shift coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience in automotive service environment required.
• Completion of a two-year college, technical program, or 1-3 years of service industry experience and a minimum of one year supervisory experience.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to exercise judgement and work independently.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to handle difficult customer situations.
• Comfortable utilizing up-sell techniques.
• Strong cash handling skills, including the use of POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain direction, coordination, and evaluation of direct and indirect reports in compliance with policies, procedures, loss prevention, safety, and environmental codes, and laws.
• Direct, instruct, and manage a team of associates, including supervising and appraising work; rewarding, motivating, counseling and disciplining; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Oversee productivity, profitability, work environment, relationships, and visual standards; measured through reporting and feedback.
• Train and coach service selling associates on Customer Care Process, CVIs, and store systems.
• Maintain staffing levels and recruit for talent; interview and promote internally/externally.
• Monitor shop productivity and safety; ensure CVIs and proper service repairs.
• Ensure customer service standards and satisfaction programs; resolve complaints.
• Manage POS transactions, inventory, reverse logistics and OP procurement.
