Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. is seeking an Assistant Service Manager to support the service and tire team under the Store Service Manager. You will help drive sales across service labor, parts, tires, and fleet business while ensuring the shop operates efficiently and safely.

The role emphasizes customer care, training staff, and maintaining organized back-shop operations. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year in automotive service, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience in automotive service environment.
• One year of automotive service sales experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Must have basic knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and fractions. Ability to apply mathematical formulas to calculate commissions and discounts.
• Acted as a work lead or supervisor previously.
• Ability to exercise judgement and to work independently.
• Ability to handle difficult customer situations.
• Comfortable utilizing up-sell techniques.
• Strong cash handling skills, including the use of POS systems.
• Demonstrated consistency, accuracy and follow-through.
• Ability to work Days, Nights, Holidays and Weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager of Service in customer care, work orders, and register assistance.
• Support shop productivity and back-shop operations to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Drive service center sales through personal engagement and coaching of advisors.
• Uphold policies on POS transactions, cash handling, and vendor purchases.
• Participate in training staff on Pep Boys Customer Care Process and CVIs.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
