Job summary

Pep Boys in Corpus Christi is seeking a Customer Service oriented Sales/Service Associate to engage customers, schedule appointments, and explain parts and services to help keep cars running at peak efficiency.

You will handle service desk, sales floor, and register transactions, working to maintain a clean, organized shop. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are required; one year in automotive service and sales is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of related experience in the automotive service environment.
• One year of sales experience preferred.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work Days, Nights, Weekends, Holidays.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for customers on the phone and in the store, engaging customers, scheduling appointments, building trust, understanding needs, communicating processes and timelines, and selling parts and service that ensure peak vehicle performance.
• Organize and drive service business through work order and register transactions, vehicle inspections, and product knowledge.
• Assist in customer care, work orders, register support, facility maintenance, and Outside Purchase ordering under management.
• Follow policies on cash, credit, checks, refunds and returns; collaborate with management on issues and opportunities.
• Perform express automotive services including tire mounting, balancing, rotations, oil changes, fluid top-offs, lubrication, filters and bulbs, battery testing.
• Support safety procedures and maintain a safe workspace; ensure wheel torque and oil services follow SOPs.
• Collaborate with management to maintain a safe, healthy work environment compliant with laws and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with associates, management, and customers; interpret and apply information accurately.
• In some locations, may handle opening/closing responsibilities as a secondary key carrier.
• Keep the shop organized and neat; adhere to all company policies and safety rules.
• Other duties as assigned.
