Job summary

VIP, Inc in Maine is seeking a Manager-in-Training (M.I.T.) to learn our culture and management processes, lead a team, and ensure safe, compliant operations. The MIT will deliver exceptional customer experiences and drive VIP programs and standards at the location.

The role emphasizes safety, coaching, scheduling, training, and collaboration with management to meet performance targets and customer service goals.

Qualifications

• Two years related automotive service management experience
• Completion of two-year college or technical school program or equivalent
• ASE Certifications P2 and G1 recommended; State Inspection License where applicable

Responsibilities

• Makes sure that workplace safety is Priority #1. Follows all safety policies and trainings.
• Learn the VIP way of building an extraordinary team.
• Learn VIP’s processes and be prepared to hire and develop associates; ensure LMS and vendor training completed; promote ASE certifications.
• Proper scheduling of the team to meet customers’ needs across all hours of operation.
• Communicate effectively with the team through daily huddles and store meetings.
• Monitor email for customer appointments and communications.
• Train and deliver the 5 for 5 process to educate customers about vehicle conditions and solutions.
• Control dispatching of work orders and assign to technicians by first available qualified technician.
• Attend off-site meetings and training sessions as needed.
