Job summary

The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack LLC is seeking a Service Desk Associate to engage customers, schedule appointments, and sell parts and services to keep vehicles running at peak efficiency. You will handle transactions, assist in service operations, and uphold safety and store policies in a fast-paced retail automotive environment.

Required is a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and at least one year of automotive service experience; sales experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's License.
• One year of related experience in the automotive service environment.
• One year of sales experience preferred.
• Must have basic knowledge of mathematical concepts for commissions and discounts.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for customers on the phone and in the store; engages customers, schedules appointments, builds trust, understands needs, communicates processes and timelines, and sells parts and service.
• Organizes service desk and register transactions, conducts vehicle inspections, and has knowledge of service and replacement parts.
• Assists in customer care, work order and register tasks, facility maintenance, and Outside Purchase ordering.
• Adheres to cash, credit, check, refund and return policies and works with management on customer issues.
• Performs express automotive services such as tire mounting/balancing/rotations, oil changes, fluid top-offs, and inspections.
• Supports safety procedures and contributes to a safe work environment.
• Communicates effectively with associates, management, and customers.
• May handle opening/closing responsibilities in designated locations.
• Maintains an organized and neat shop.
• Follows all company policies, safety, and environmental rules.
• Other duties as assigned.
