Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking an Inspector Apprentice to inspect customer vehicles, document findings, and support daily operations at a Cox location in the United States. The role requires basic technical understanding, good communication, and reliable lifting ability.

The position emphasizes safety, accuracy in reports, and collaboration with the team to maintain vehicle readiness and compliance with procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Generally, less than 2 years of related experience.
• Safe driver’s license required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Preferred: strong technical understanding with good organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask, follow directions and take instruction.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for prolonged periods; lift up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles for damage, missing parts, and mechanical issues per work orders.
• Prepare and complete all necessary documentation.
• Set up system for day-end and perform day-end procedures.
• Write electronic condition reports (ECR) and conduct courtesy walks.
• Maintain knowledge of systems and job-related software packages.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and participate in Safety Excellence.
