Job summary

VIP, Inc. is seeking a Flat Rate Technician to diagnose and repair automotive systems, parts, fluids, tires, and more. The tech will follow VIP processes to deliver quality service and ensure customers have a better experience.

You will complete SAFE work orders, obtain necessary parts, and uphold safety and regulatory standards while contributing to team goals and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, journal and procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Effectively explain vehicle information to customers, present and respond to questions from coworkers.
• Diagnose and recommend solutions to basic automotive problems.
• Interpret, understand, and apply instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to successfully perform required types of automotive services listed above.

Responsibilities

• 1. Maintains safety as priority, follows safety policies, and reports unsafe conditions.
• 2. Provides diagnosis, repair, and maintenance for all systems covered by ASE series.
• 3. Ensures a valid Service Work Order is started and displayed with the vehicle.
• 4. Completes MPI prior to service and supports the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement Process.
• 5. Returns parts to the Desk Team and manages cores/used tires handling.
• 6. Maintains shop cleanliness and adheres to VIP quality standards.
• 7. Completes required training and certification for the position.
• 8. Performs road tests to verify safe operating conditions.
• 9. Complies with safety, loss prevention, and regulatory programs.

Education

Two-year college or technical school program in automotive service

Equivalent combination of education and experience

ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended

ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering

Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence

One year of related experience in automotive service field
