Job summary

FlexTek is seeking an Automation & Robotics Engineer to design, program, and implement automation solutions in a Houston manufacturing environment. You will work with PLCs, robots, vision systems, and HMI/SCADA to improve throughput and reliability.

The role involves leading projects from concept to implementation, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering measurable improvements in production performance. Relocation options are available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in industrial automation, controls engineering, robotics, or related field.
• Strong PLC programming experience (ladder logic) on Siemens/Allen-Bradley/Omron or similar.
• Experience with industrial robots or cobots and system integration.
• Knowledge of machine vision systems such as Cognex/Keyence.
• Experience with motion control, servo drives, VFDs, and automated machine controls.
• Experience developing or integrating HMI/SCADA systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control systems in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, integrate, and optimize industrial automation systems for manufacturing operations.
• Develop and modify PLC programs, including ladder logic and sequencing.
• Integrate robots with PLCs, sensors, vision systems, and production equipment.
• Work with machine vision for inspection, part identification, and quality control.
• Develop and support HMI/SCADA applications for monitoring and control.
• Integrate motion control systems, servo drives, and motors.
• Lead automation projects from concept to commissioning and implementation.
• Troubleshoot and improve existing automated equipment to boost throughput and reliability.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, maintenance, and quality teams on practical solutions.
• Support data connectivity and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
