Job summary

Flex--n--gate is seeking an Automation Engineer to develop, edit, maintain, and troubleshoot automated actuators, PLCs, and motion-controlled programs on manufacturing equipment. You will support the production floor and participate in CPQ activities, continuous improvement, and integration of robotic peripherals.

Required is a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (experience in lieu of degree considered) with 3–5 years in manufacturing tech and proficiency in Allen Bradley PLC

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; experience in lieu of degree considered.
• 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing technology.
• Competency with Allen Bradley PLC programming hardware and software.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and train team process engineers and die setters in real-time trouble shooting techniques across basic electrical, mechanical and pneumatic functions of robots and connections.
• Develop and organize spare parts inventories.
• Participate in advanced product quality planning for control plans.
• Provide technical support on the production floor to meet efficiency goals.
• Initiate and participate in continuous improvement, including cycle time reductions and root cause analysis.
• Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems.
• Integrate robotics with peripherals such as welders, controllers, or other equipment.
