Job summary

Flex Tek in the United States is seeking an Industrial Controls Engineer to join the Innovation Team. You will design and implement PLC, HMI, and networked control systems for production equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and maintainability across the plant floor.

You will program PLCs, configure HMIs, run system startups, and collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and maintenance teams to turn concepts into proven, serviceable automation solutions. Travel is expected 10-20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; hands-on experience may count.
• 5+ years in industrial controls and automation.
• Proficient in PLC programming (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of industrial protocols: Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus.
• Familiar with electrical design software (EPLAN, Draftsight, SolidWorks Electrical).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable control solutions for production equipment.
• Design PLC, HMI, SCADA networks and electrical layouts.
• Program PLCs and configure HMIs; bring systems online.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and maintenance teams.
• Maintain documentation and ensure safe, maintainable systems.
• Support startup, commissioning, and ongoing optimization.
