Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Automation / Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our Energy and Resources consulting team in a challenging, multidisciplinary environment. You will work on mining, power, oil & gas, and energy transition projects across North America, taking on design, development, and integration tasks.

You will lead and support project design, develop control philosophies, and coordinate with internal teams and clients to ensure quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited University.
• 5–10 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
• A Professional Engineering license (or the ability to become licensed).

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design for I&C construction drawings and instrumentation specifications.
• Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and integrate with third-party systems.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients, vendors and contractors to deliver projects.
