Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC seeks an Automation Engineer Manager to lead a team responsible for equipment reliability and operational excellence across fulfillment centers. You will guide SME troubleshooting, program PLC/SCADA solutions, and mentor junior engineers to drive continuous improvement.

The role involves working with conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, and SCADA devices, ensuring fast, accurate order fulfillment while building team capabilities and delivering operational excellence.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Automation Engineering or 7+ years PLC/automation experience
7+ years industrial controls and automation experience
7+ years in process/production environment PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis
7+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience
7+ years of Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Codesys Ladder Logic experience
7+ years of electrical theory and automated equipment experience

Responsibilities

Apply SME on troubleshooting and dive deep for engineering issues, supporting automation engineers to investigate root cause and plan actions to minimize downtime
Program and source code for in-house PLC/PC controllers and SCADA/OEE platforms
Understand, maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems and networks
Provide escalation support during/after hours to repair hardware or controls software
Establish training plans and mentor automation engineers
