Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability in fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot complex control systems, mentor junior engineers, and lead cross-functional teams to optimize MHE systems including conveyors, sortation, scanners, and SCADA devices.

You will work with PLC/PC controllers, industrial networks, and SCADA to drive continuous improvement while meeting safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience
4+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience
4+ years of Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Codesys Ladder Logic experience
4+ years of electrical theory and automated equipment experience

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and diagnose engineering issues; support automation engineers to identify root cause and minimize asset downtime
Collaborate with Operations, FC Start-up, software teams, and safety to optimize MHE systems and implement projects
Maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems (PLC/PC controllers; Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus)
Monitor MHE metrics and analyze performance with maintenance teams to address issues
Provide escalation support during and after hours to ensure repair of hardware and software in buildings
