Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is seeking an Automation Engineer to join our team and support complex automated material handling equipment for a major online retailer. You will troubleshoot PLC/robotics systems, monitor networks, and drive reliability improvements across conveyors, sorters, and related systems.

You’ll collaborate with maintenance and operations, participate in safety programs, and have opportunities for growth within CBRE after six months of service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with 2–5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in at least two engineering design cycles including specification, component selection and programming.
• 2+ years of experience with PLC programs.
• 2+ years of experience with robotics system components and controls.
• 2+ years of experience with SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems including PLC platforms.
• Act as first level escalation on-site and remotely during and after hours.
• Inspect systems to ensure operation meets design and client specs.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for upgrades and maintenance.
• Engineer process solutions and reliability improvements from concept to implementation.
• Monitor industrial networks and electrical distribution systems.
