Job summary
CBRE Global Workplace Solutions in Myrtle Beach, SC is seeking an Automation Engineer to support advanced automation systems for a major online retailer. This full-time, exempt role focuses on maintaining and improving conveyors, PLCs, SCADA, vision systems, and related controls to maximize uptime and safety.
You will troubleshoot PLCs, Allen Bradley Controllogix/CompactLogix, RSLogix 5000, and related software, mentor teams, and coordinate with site operations to deliver reliable, efficient
Qualifications
- Two engineering design cycles (specification, selection, programming)
- 2+ years with PLC programming and SCADA-based monitoring
- Experience with conveyors, sortation, or material-handling controls
Responsibilities
- Promote safe operations and regulatory compliance
- Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems (PLC/PC)
- First-level escalation support on-site and remotely; respond to emergencies
- Inspect systems to ensure equipment operates within design specifications
- Oversee development scope, work requests, and contractor inspections
- Engineer process solutions and reliability improvements from concept to implementation
- Monitor industrial networks (Ethernet, DeviceNet, Profibus) and motor control systems
- Communicate with stakeholders on technical issues and timelines
- Analyze failures and recommend improvements or retraining
- Perform controls system assessments to improve reliability
