Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and performance in fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot complex control systems, analyze metrics, and drive improvements across MHE, conveyors, sorters, and SCADA devices.

You’ll lead proactive automation efforts with cross-functional teams to ensure fast, accurate order fulfillment. You will work with state-of-the-art technology, including conveyors, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, and SCADA programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE/automation or equivalent, or 2+ years PLC/automation experience
• Willing to work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
• 2+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience
• 2+ years of ladder logic and programming from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs

Responsibilities

• Maintain automation systems critical for operations
• Troubleshoot material handling control systems and networks (PLC/PC controllers, Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus)
• Monitor MHE metrics and analyze performance; address system issues
• Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians
• Perform and analyze building System Assessments to improve performance
