Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an Automation Engineer to support the site maintenance team, ensuring operational performance of material handling control systems. You will troubleshoot, modify software projects, and mentor technicians in a clean, climate-controlled facility.

The role requires hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, Rockwell software, and interpreting electrical drawings, plus collaboration with operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with programming/commissioning HMIs, PLCs, and VFDs
• Experience with SCADA systems and KPIs
• Ability to interpret and modify mechanical and electrical drawings
• Experience supporting conveyors and sortation systems
• Knowledge of equipment control components such as relays, motor starters, VFDs, HMIs

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
• Provide guidance on maintaining material handling control systems and electrical distribution systems
• Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems including PLC/PC controllers using Rockwell software
• Escalate downtime issues to vendors or network support teams as needed to restore operation
• Apply expertise in material handling and electronic control systems to maximize building utilization
• Monitor MHE metrics and resolve electrical problems affecting performance
• Coordinate with operations, vendors, and parts suppliers for new technology installations
• Communicate technical issues and project timelines with leadership and operations
