Job summary

Amazon in Durham, NC seeks an Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and operational performance in fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot complex control systems, analyze performance metrics, and drive improvements across MHE systems including conveyors and sortation.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, work with state-of-the-art SCADA devices, and contribute to fast, accurate order fulfillment with Amazon’s signature speed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE/automation or 2+ years PLC/automation experience
• Experience with PLC/automation control systems and troubleshooting
• Proficiency with ladder logic and automation programming

Responsibilities

• Maintain automation systems critical for operations
• Troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks
• Monitor MHE metrics and coordinate with maintenance/operations
• Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians
• Conduct System Assessments to improve material handling performance
