Job summary
CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer to support advanced automation systems in mission-critical facilities. The role focuses on optimizing conveyors, sortation systems, PLCs, vision systems, and SCADA platforms to improve uptime, safety, and performance.
You will troubleshoot PLC and software programs, mentor teams, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver reliable control solutions across high-volume environments.
Qualifications
- Hands-on programming and maintenance of automation systems.
- Experience with PLC hardware and software used in material-handling environments.
- Ability to diagnose and repair complex automation issues across networks and controllers.
Responsibilities
- Promote safety and regulatory compliance in system operations.
- Troubleshoot software for material handling control systems and PLC platforms.
- Escalate and respond to on-site and remote issues, including after-hours support.
- Inspect systems to ensure operation meets design specs.
- Oversee outside contractors for specialized upgrades and maintenance.
- Engineer process solutions from concept to implementation.
- Monitor Ethernet and fieldbuses like ControlNet/DeviceNet/Profibus.
- Analyze failures and implement improvements to prevent recurrences.
- Communicate timelines and impacts with site leadership and maintenance teams.
- Perform other duties as needed.
