Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in Oklahoma seeks an Automation Engineer to join the CBRE Global Workplace Solutions team. You will support material handling equipment, troubleshoot PLCs and robotics, and drive reliability improvements across conveyors and sortation systems.

The role requires hands-on work, flexible scheduling, and collaboration with operations and maintenance, with a strong focus on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; 2–5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in at least two engineering design cycles including specification, component selection and programming.
• 2+ years of PLC programming experience.
• 2+ years of robotics system components and controls.
• 2+ years of SCADA systems experience.
• Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, holidays.
• Physical capability to lift 50 lbs.
• Strong problem solving and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment by complying with codes, regulations and company directives.
• Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems (PLC/PC).
• Serve as first level escalation for on-site and remote troubleshooting, including after hours.
• Inspect systems to ensure operation meets client design conditions.
• Oversee development scope, scheduling and inspection of work by outside contractors.
• Engineer process solutions and reliability improvements from concept to network implementation.
• Monitor industrial networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, AS-I).
• Coordinate with site teams to resolve equipment issues and impacts on production.
• Communicate with stakeholders on timelines and project impacts.
• Perform system assessments to maintain and improve reliability.
• Build positive relationships with client and maintenance teams.
