Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer to join CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS). You will support automated material handling equipment, troubleshoot PLC/robotics, and improve reliability.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, SCADA signals, and collaboration with operations and maintenance teams. Requires hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley platforms and RSLogix, plus strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred; combination of experience and education may be considered.
Experience in at least two engineering design cycles including specification, component selection and programming.
2+ years of experience with PLC programs.
2+ years of experience with robotics system components and controls.
2+ years of experience with SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems (PLC/PC).
Provide first-level escalation in troubleshooting on-site and remotely.
Inspect systems to ensure operation meets design and client specs.
Engineer process solutions and reliability improvements from concept to implementation.
Monitor industrial networks and equipment metrics to resolve performance issues.
Communicate with leadership, operations and maintenance on timelines and impacts.
