Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions seeks a Ctrl Systems Engineer/Automation Engineer to service automated material handling equipment and lead reliability improvements. You will work with conveyors, sortation systems, SCADA, and AB PLCs to maximize equipment uptime.

The role emphasizes proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration with site teams and leadership. A hands-on, safety-conscious professional is encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience in at least two engineering design cycles including specification, component selection and programming.
• 2+ years of experience with PLC programs.
• 2+ years of experience with robotics system components and controls.
• 2+ years of experience with SCADA systems.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to solve problems independently with limited supervision.
• Must meet physical requirements (stooping, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems, including AB PLC platform.
• Provide on-site and remote first-level escalation support, including after-hours response.
• Inspect systems to verify operation per design and client requirements.
• Oversee development scope, work requests, scheduling, and contractor inspections.
• Engineer process solutions and reliability improvements from concept to implementation.
• Monitor industrial networks and motor control systems for performance.
• Communicate with stakeholders on timelines and impacts of projects.
• Facilitate failure analysis and recommendations to prevent recurrence.
