Job summary

Prime Controls, L.P. is seeking an Automation Specialist I to assist with system integration projects, identifying parts, programming PLCs and HMIs, testing functionality, and troubleshooting startup issues.

The role requires 2 years in AEC or a related field or a technical degree; preferred Bachelor’s degrees in Mechatronics, Computer, or Electrical Engineering. On-site position with competitive benefits at our Dallas area headquarters.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in AEC or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Computer or Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Reads diagrams and communicates with customers to understand objectives.
• Develops BOMs, IO lists, and control-panel requirements.
• Develops PLC programs in Ladder, Function Block, and other languages.
• Develops the HMI and associated software.
• Develops test plans and simulation logic for PLC/HMI testing.
• Tests installed systems to verify functionality and design compliance.
• Troubleshoots startup problems and interface issues with hardware/software.
• Trains customers on system integration software usage.
• Interfaces with software vendors for problem resolution.
• Collaborates with team to address design issues.
