Job summary

Prime Controls, L.P. in Texas is seeking an Automation Specialist I to assist with system integration projects, including identifying components for PLCs, networks, and software; program PLCs and HMIs; and test and troubleshoot startup issues.

You will develop documentation, train customers on client-specific software, and collaborate with vendors and teammates to address design problems. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2 years of industry experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in architectural, engineering or construction (AEC) industry or similar field.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, related Bachelor’s discipline, or equivalent Industrial controls experience.
• Strong PLC/HMI programming skills and ability to develop documentation.

Responsibilities

• Identify parts and components for PLC, network, computer, and software.
• Program PLCs and HMIs; test functionality of program logic and installed equipment.
• Troubleshoot software and systems issues during start-up; develop user manuals and documentation.
