Job summary

Prime Controls L.P. is seeking an Automation Specialist I to assist with system integration projects. You will identify parts, program PLCs and HMIs, test logic, and troubleshoot during start-up, while developing documentation and user manuals.

You will also train customers on the software and interface with vendors to resolve issues, contributing to project success across multiple client sites.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in architectural, engineering or construction (AEC) industry or similar field.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, related Bachelor’s discipline, related degree from a Technical College or equivalent Industrial controls experience
• 4 years of experience in architectural, engineering or construction (AEC) industry or similar field (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Identify parts and components for PLC, network, computer, and software components; programming PLCs and HMIs; testing functionality of program logic and installed equipment; troubleshooting software and systems issues during start-up.
• Develop and assemble required documentation and user manuals created during the development process.
• Train customers on the use and operation of client-specific system integration software.
• Interface with manufacturers and vendors of software and application products, particularly regarding problem diagnosis and resolution.
• Work with others to address design problems as necessary.

Skills

2 years experience in AEC or similar

General engineering knowledge

Education

B.S. in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field

Industrial controls experience or technical college equivalent
