Job summary

FullSpeed Automotive is seeking an Assistant Manager for its Grease Monkey location in St Augustine, FL. This hands-on role splits time between the service bay, front counter, and back office, supporting the Store Manager to deliver fast, high-quality automotive service.

You will lead by example, coach technicians and service advisors, manage scheduling, onboarding, and customer service standards, and help ensure a safe, clean, and efficient store.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a retail, automotive service, or customer-facing leadership role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment that includes time in the service bay.
• Basic math and cash-handling skills; comfortable using point-of-sale and inventory systems.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and some holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in supervising daily operations, stepping in to lead the location in the manager's absence.
• Coach, train, and motivate technicians and service advisors to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
• Assist with scheduling team members to ensure proper coverage during peak hours and busy seasons.
• Help onboard and train new team members on service procedures, point-of-sale systems, and customer service standards.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment that reflects FullSpeed Automotive's values.
• Greet customers, explain services, and ensure visits reflect speed, quality, and trust.
• Resolve customer concerns or complaints promptly, escalating to the Store Manager when needed.
• Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening/closing, cash handling, POS transactions.
• Monitor inventory levels for parts, fluids, and supplies; place orders as directed by the Store Manager.
• Ensure shop and customer areas are clean, organized, and reflect brand standards.
• Support safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
