Job summary

CarMax is seeking an Auto Repair Specialist II to uphold our best-in-class quality standards across mechanical and cosmetic repairs. You will perform repairs on customer and internal vehicles following our Certified Quality Inspection Process and Retail Repair Process.

You will also manage customer interactions, maintain parts inventory, and ensure safe, efficient shop operation while working with integrity and precision. The role requires ASE certification upkeep and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately.
• Capable of performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including professional phone etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced mechanical repairs including engine performance and drivability.
• Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering, suspension, and 4-wheel alignments.
• Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax Quality Standards and maintain shop cleanliness.
• Consult with customers on repair needs and communicate results clearly.
• Review repair orders for labor, parts, and billing accuracy.
• Maintain parts inventory and ensure proper stocking levels.
• Adhere to CarMax EH&S requirements and keep a clean work area.
