Job summary

CarMax is seeking an Auto Repair Specialist II to perform advanced mechanical and cosmetic repairs, following CarMax Quality Inspection and Retail Repair processes. You will interact with customers during repairs, manage parts inventory, and ensure safe, accurate service in a fast-paced store environment.

This role requires ASE certifications in Steering & Suspension, Brakes, Heating & A/C, Electrical, Engine, and Transmission, plus the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work nights, weekends, and

• Knowledge of advanced mechanical repairs and diagnostics.
• Strong ability to communicate with customers about repair needs.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced mechanical repairs, including engine performance, drivability, and electrical systems.
• Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering, suspension, complete 4-wheel alignments, and service heating and air conditioning systems.
• Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax Quality Standards and maintain shop cleanliness per 5S principles.
• Consult with customers on repair needs, explain services performed, and ensure clear communication.
• Review and close repair orders accurately, including labor, parts, and billing documentation.
• Manage parts inventory, receive shipments, and maintain proper stocking levels to support efficiency.
• Follow CarMax EH&S requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
