Job summary

CarMax Conroe is seeking an Auto Repair Specialist II to perform mechanical and cosmetic repairs according to CarMax Quality Inspection and Retail Repair processes. You will manage customer interactions during repairs, maintain parts inventory, and ensure proper use of tools while supporting store operations with integrity.

Responsibilities include diagnosing brake, steering, suspension, engine, and HVAC systems, conducting 4-wheel alignments, and ensuring safety standards.

Qualifications

• Complete orientation and Kronos training for hourly associates.
• Maintain ASE certifications listed (A1–A8) where required by state/local law.
• Ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately.
• Capable of performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods; flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced mechanical repairs, including engine performance, drivability, and electrical systems.
• Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering, suspension, complete 4-wheel alignments, and HVAC systems.
• Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax Quality Standards and maintain shop cleanliness per 5S principles.
• Consult with customers on repair needs, explain services performed, and ensure clear communication.
• Review and close repair orders accurately, including labor, parts, and billing documentation.
• Manage parts inventory, receive shipments, and maintain proper stocking levels to support efficiency.
• Follow CarMax EH&S requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
