Job summary

Pep Boys in DeLand, FL is seeking a Master Technician with proven expertise in diagnosing drivability, air conditioning and electrical systems. You will lead a shop team, mentor peers and deliver excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly.

Requirements include 5+ years of diagnostic experience, 8 ASE certs preferred, Section 609 cert, a valid driver's license, and flexibility to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends. ASE mastery is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 8 ASE certifications (A1–A8) preferred.
• Section 609 Certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• High motivation, energy and a customer-focused attitude.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Pre-employment background check required.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications — brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
• Perform job duties of all lower job descriptions (Technician A, Technician B, Mechanic, General Service Technician).
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers when required.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety, and environmental rules.
