Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a Master Technician to diagnose drivability, A/C and electrical systems while mentoring a shop team. The role involves direct customer interaction, educating customers on problems and proposed solutions to ensure superior service.

Must have strong automotive diagnostics experience, 8+ ASE certifications preferred, Section 609, state inspection license if applicable, and a valid driver's license. Availability for varied shifts is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of automotive diagnosis, problem solving and repair experience.
• 8+ ASE certifications preferred (A1–A8).
• Section 609 Certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Motivation, energy and customer‑focused attitude.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Successful pre‑employment background check.
• Able to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications: brake/hydraulic, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension and alignment, A/C and computer systems.
• Perform duties of lower technician levels (Technician A/B, Mechanic, General Service Technician).
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to customers and staff clearly.
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques through formal training.
• Assist other technicians as needed.
• Keep management informed of repair issues as they arise.
• Maintain organized, neat shop and adhere to policies and safety rules.
