Job summary

Pep Boys in Tampa is seeking a Master Technician to diagnose drivability, air conditioning and electrical systems, while mentoring a team to enhance customer care. You will interact directly with customers, explain problems and propose solutions, and lead by example in a busy shop environment.

The role emphasizes strong technical expertise, availability for varied shifts, and a commitment to safety and continuous learning in automotive technology.

Qualifications

This position requires 5+ years of automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
ASE certifications (A1–A8) are preferred.
Section 609 Certification required.
State Inspection license if applicable.
Valid driver's license and background check completed.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair to specifications across brakes, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, air conditioning and computer systems.
Mentor and lead technicians to improve customer care and shop performance.
Explain diagnoses and needed repairs clearly to customers and staff.
Stay current with automotive technology through formal training.
Maintain a clean, organized shop and adhere to safety policies.
