Job summary

Pep Boys in DeLand, FL is seeking a Technician to professionally inspect, diagnose and repair automotive services while delivering excellent customer service.

You will explain diagnoses to customers and co-workers, continually learn new techniques, and mentor junior staff. Must have at least 1 year of experience and ASE certifications are preferred. Valid driver’s license and a background check are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes).
• 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications -- brake and hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment, perform all maintenance services.
• Perform job duties of all lower job descriptions (Mechanic and General Service Technician).
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals including employees and customers as required.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques through formal training to stay abreast of automotive technology.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety and environmental rules.
