Qualifications

• 2+ years of collections experience.
• Auto-finance, consumer-lending, or closely related collections experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to manage a high-volume account queue while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities.
• The ability to handle sensitive and confidential financial information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned auto-loan accounts through all stages of delinquency, from one day past due through repossession referral and support.
• Make high-volume inbound and outbound customer contacts to understand the reason for delinquency and identify appropriate solutions.
• Negotiate payment arrangements within established company guidelines and monitor promises to pay.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of customer contacts, payment arrangements, account changes, complaints, visits, and repossession recommendations.
• Use skip-tracing and account-research methods to locate customers and update contact information.
• Answer customer questions and resolve routine concerns professionally, escalating sensitive or higher-risk matters when appropriate.
• Identify accounts meeting repossession criteria and make recommendations to Branch Manager.
• Partner with Remarketing Department by providing necessary account information for approved repossessions.
• Conduct occasional local customer visits when contact fails and repossession is near.
• Complete welcome calls with new auto-loan customers to establish relationships and review payment options.
• Provide requested account information to appropriate department for insurance claims.
• Provide backup support for administrative functions to maintain branch operations while keeping collections as primary responsibility.
• Deliver courteous, professional service to customers, dealers, and internal partners.
