Job summary

Travelers Companies, Inc. is offering an Associate Claim Rep, Auto Damage, with comprehensive training in claim handling, customer service, and policy interpretation.

You will work alongside experienced claim professionals to manage auto, heavy equipment, mobile equipment, and property damage claims through frequent customer interactions via phone and written communications. The program lasts 9–12 months, after which you will progress toward full claims handling responsibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and one year of customer service experience.
• Willingness to obtain active adjuster license as required by state law.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with willingness to learn claims management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgement within established authority.
• Exceptional customer service and a positive experience for insureds and claimants.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to multitask.
• Demonstrated openness to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured training covering policies, claim processes, systems, and procedures.
• Assess coverage to determine compensability.
• Investigate by gathering information from policyholders, claimants, and witnesses.
• Coordinate with resources to obtain additional evidence and detect potential fraud.
• Establish claim reserves and determine settlement amounts; issue payments.
• Develop and execute action plans for effective claim resolution.
• Communicate status to all involved parties, including business customers.
• Maintain accurate records in claim management systems.
• Adapt to new workflows and digital tool rollouts while maintaining productivity.
