You will handle investigations, determine coverage, and draft reservations of rights letters while coordinating with defense counsel and experts to reach resolutions.

Requirements include a college degree or 5 years claims experience, knowledge of legal/medical terms, and strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• College degree or 5 years of claims adjusting experience.
• Knowledge of legal and medical terminology.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pass written examinations to become a licensed claim adjuster.

Responsibilities

• Handle litigation claims in accordance with established procedures.
• Determine coverage and draft reservations of rights letters.
• Investigate by securing statements, police reports, medical records, photos, and appraisals.
• Litigation management with defense counsel and experts as needed.
• Maintain diaries on open files and manage claim activity.
• Work with vendors while controlling expenses and upholding service quality.
• Research case law, statutes, and forms to adjust and conclude claims.
• Evaluate use of experts and field investigators.
• Prepare claim evaluations to obtain settlement authority.
• Establish indemnity and expense reserves and review defense counsel as needed.
