Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Saginaw, MI is seeking an Auto Body Technician to deliver an exceptional customer experience by expertly assessing and repairing vehicles to pre-accident condition. You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles while supporting speed, quality and customer excellence in every touchpoint.

You will work with teammates to meet shop KPIs, use tools like cutting guns, plasma cutters, jacks, hammers and filler resins, and ensure repairs meet factory specs.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical school completion or a 3-year apprenticeship as auto body repairer preferred.
• Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision. Requirements to use shop tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan the repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
• Use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
• Hammer out dents and apply filler resins when needed.
• Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Replace damaged sections and glass or interiors as needed.
• Weld and fit parts, and repaint vehicles to factory specs.
• Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
