Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Seattle is seeking an Auto Body Technician to deliver exceptional customer experiences through meticulous assessment and quality repair, restoring vehicles to pre-accident condition. You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles while upholding the brand promise of speed, quality and customer excellence.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus technical training or a 3-year apprenticeship in auto body repair.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program or 3-year apprenticeship in auto body repair.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
• Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plan the repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers using tools like cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers.
• Hammer out dents and apply filler resins when needed to repair dents.
• Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Remove damaged sections and replace with new or aftermarket parts; replace/repair glass and windshields.
• Replace or repair interior parts as needed.
• Weld and fit parts; prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint.
• Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
