Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Iowa is hiring an Auto Body Technician to provide outstanding customer experiences by repairing vehicles to pre-accident condition. You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles while upholding our speed, quality and customer-excellence standards.

You will work closely with teammates, plan repairs, estimate costs, and use tools like cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to restore vehicles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Technical school program OR 3-year apprenticeship as auto body repairer is required.
• Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision; thorough understanding of repair methods and tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plan the repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers; use tools to repair vehicle sections.
• Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage; replace or repair parts and glass as needed.
• Weld and refinish vehicles; inspect work to ensure it meets guidelines.
• Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and perform related duties as assigned.
