Gerber Collision & Glass in Ames, IA is seeking an Auto Body Technician to deliver exceptional customer experiences through meticulous vehicle repair. You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles to restore pre-accident condition, using cutting tools, jigs, and paints to meet quality standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably technical training or an apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a technical school program or 3-year apprenticeship preferred.
• Ability to read job orders with minimal supervision.
• Thorough understanding of vehicle body repair methods and procedures.
• Proficiency with tools and equipment used in auto body repair.

Responsibilities

• Disassembles, repairs, and reassembles vehicles to pre-accident condition.
• Plans repair work and prepares cost estimates for customers.
• Replaces damaged sections with new or aftermarket parts.
• Replaces or repairs glass, windshields, and interior components.
• Welds, paints, and ensures all work meets labor time guidelines.
