Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Jacksonville, FL seeks an Auto Body Technician to restore vehicles to pre-accident condition. You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble, collaborating with teammates to meet KPIs and uphold the brand promise of speed, quality and customer excellence.

Responsibilities include planning repairs, using a range of tools, realigning chassis, replacing parts and glass, welding, and repainting to spec.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship.
Ability to read job orders with minimal supervision.
Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop.
Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.

Responsibilities

Plan the repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
Use cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
Hammer out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage and apply filler resin when needed.
Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
Remove damaged sections and replace with new or aftermarket parts; replace glass and windshields.
Weld and fit parts; repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or equivalents.
Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
