Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship in auto body repair preferred.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Must work safely in a noisy area with many odors.

Responsibilities

• Plan the repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
• Use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
• Hammer dents and other minor body damage; apply filler resins when needed.
• Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Remove or replace damaged sections and interior parts; replace glass as needed.
• Weld, fit parts, and repaint vehicles to factory specs or equivalent.
• Ensure work orders are completed within labor time guidelines and inspect finished work.
