Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass - Amarillo, TX is seeking an Auto Body Technician with 4-5 years of collision repair experience. You’ll assess and repair vehicles to pre-accident condition, disassemble and reassemble parts, and work with the team to meet KPIs while upholding the Brand Ambassador stance.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, or a technical program/3-year apprenticeship, and strong knowledge of repair methods and tools. Excellent communication and safety are essential.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years minimum collision auto body repair experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop.
• Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies and the tools required for the trade.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plans the repair work and prepares cost estimates for customers using tools like cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers and pliers.
• Hammers out dents and repairs minor body damage; applies filler resins when needed.
• Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Removes damaged sections and replaces them with parts; replaces or repairs glass and windshields as needed.
• Welds and fits parts; prepares and repaints vehicles to factory specs or equivalents.
• Attempts to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspects vehicles after repair.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
