Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is offering a 30‑day trainee program in the automotive repair field, providing hands‑on experience while working with an experienced technician. This program leads into the 18‑month Technician Development Program, with safety and quality standards emphasized throughout.

You will assist with dent removal, sanding, painting, and inspections; learn tool use and safety; and participate in a team‑oriented environment focused on learning and performance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time in the repair of a vehicle.
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions.
• Must be able to use hands efficiently in handling vehicle parts.
• Strong interest in the automotive industry and a desire to learn and develop technical skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
• Basic knowledge of auto body repair techniques and tools is preferred but not required.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward learning and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing basic auto body repairs, including dent removal, sanding, and painting under supervision.
• Learn to use and maintain tools and equipment properly to ensure safety and efficiency in the workplace.
• Participate in vehicle inspections to identify damages and develop repair plans.
• Collaborate with team members to complete repair projects within specified timelines and quality standards.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
