New Story Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to work with students aged 5-21 with autism and behavioral, emotional, and developmental challenges. You will support academics, behavior, and daily living goals under teacher guidance in a structured classroom.

Role emphasizes patience, direct student support, and collaboration with teachers to implement IEPs and behavior plans while maintaining a calm and encouraging learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
