Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Business Operations Associate in Montgomery, IL to support store operations, processing sales, auctions, and appraisals with a strong focus on accuracy and customer service. You will handle paperwork, perform audits, manage cash and deposits, and help ensure secure, compliant operations in a fast-paced environment.

You will train new associates, balance workloads across departments, and uphold CarMax EH&S standards while maintaining a clean work area.

Qualifications

• Read, interpret, and record data accurately for compliance and reporting.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
• Effective verbal and written communication for customer and team interactions.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and CarMax policies.
• Flexible to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers and guiding them through paperwork.
• Process and audit paperwork for retail and wholesale sales, including contracts and DMV docs.
• Manage auction and appraisal transactions with accurate titles, payoffs, and funding docs.
• Handle cash management tasks, deposits, and security protocols.
• Train and mentor new associates and support store operations across departments.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and reconciliation of missing information.
• Follow EH&S requirements and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
