Job summary

Anduril Industries in California seeks a Mechanical Engineer to own detailed design of rotary and linear actuators from concept through production, emphasizing manufacturability, sensing integration, and gear systems.

BS or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 1–4 years of experience is required. Proficiency in NX or SolidWorks, GD&T, and machining knowledge is expected. The role is based in Southern California with a competitive compensation package including equity.

Qualifications

• BS or higher degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 1–4 years of relevant experience.
• Owned mechanical design of at least one actuator from concept to production.
• Experience in design and analysis of geared actuation systems with rotary and linear gear reduction mechanisms.
• Proficient in CAD with NX or SolidWorks; understanding of manufacturing methods (casting, machining, etc).
• Proficient in mechanical drawings and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience procuring parts and working in a machine shop; safety knowledge.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Own detailed mechanical design of rotary and linear actuators from conceptual phase into production.
• Drive development in sensing, eMachines, and electromechanical gear systems.
• Design with a heavy focus on manufacturing and assembly at production rates.
• Evaluate cooling solutions for each application.
• Design durability test profiles using vehicle usage data.
• Lead and participate in continuous improvement and data analysis efforts.
