Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a dedicated kitchen teammate at Arnett Hospital to support patient meals and maintain a clean, safe dining area. No experience required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred, and ability to operate kitchen equipment.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:30am–3:00pm with rotating weekends and occasional 11:30am–8:00pm. Apply to join a team focused on compassionate service and patient safety.

SCHEDULE

WORK LOCATION

Arnett Hospital

Key Responsibilities

• Gathering dirty trays and running dish plates through dishwasher.
• Washing pots and pans.
• Putting away clean dishes and maintaining a clean dish area.
• Sweep and mop kitchen and office floors.
• Pull trash from kitchen throughout the entire shift.
• Put clean dishes away in proper locations.
• Scrub cover base around kitchen and serving line.
• Prepares, plates, serves, and transports food and supplies to provide a high level of satisfaction for patients, family members, physicians, team members, and the public.
• Responsible for timely, accurate, and courteous service.
• Responsible for associated sanitation, cleaning, and infection control practices to ensure food safety.
• Operates a variety of food service and computer equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.
• No experience required. Prior food service experience is preferred.
• Requires the ability to operate kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations such as gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber-soled closed-toe footwear, etc.
• Requires adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements to produce safe food for consumption.
• Requires the ability to climb ladders.
• Physical requirements to include reaching, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, carrying and/or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 35 lbs. or more, up to 80% of the time.
